Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was born out of a poem written by Karan Johar, reveals Ranbir
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, a tale of unrequited love, marks Karan Johar's return to the director's chair after a gap of four years. And now the film's star Ranbir Kapoor has revealed that the film was born out of a poem written by KJo himself.

The emotional verse came to Karan when he was on a solo sojourn and he penned it down. During an appearance on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, the dance reality show where Karan is one of the judges, Ranbir recited the poem.

"Jab Pyaar mein Pyaar na ho, Jab dard mein yaar nah ho
Jab aaso mein muskan na ho, Jab Laafzo mein zuban nah ho
Jab saase bas hui chale, Jab har din mein raat dhale
Jab intezaar sirf waqt ka ho, Jab yaad uss kambat ka ho
Kyun hun mein rahi jab kisi aur ki manzil, Dadkone saath chhod diya
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil," goes the poem.

Ranbir recited these lines to thunderous applause on the show, when he was quizzed about the shaayari by his character Ayaan which features in the trailer of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

It was then that he revealed that it is not him but Karan who is the true poet. Will Ae Dil hai Mushkil have more of such poetic gems from Karan Johar. Now that the film is finally set to release this Diwali, we will have the opportunity to find out.
